It’s been an incredibly long time since my last post – things got so busy in my life that I just didn’t have time to write… But I missed the blog too much, and so now I’m back, and with a new blog name!
This blog is a reflection of who I am, and so I decided it should be named after me – Karen Elizabeth Ward. I hope you’ll visit often to read about plus size fashion, with a little beauty, travel, and lifestyle thrown in for fun!
In September, I was invited to a capsule collection launch by one of my all time favourite plus size brands, Eloquii. The capsule collection is a collaboration between Eloquii and in-betweenie fashion blogger Katie Sturino of The 12ish Style.
Katie Sturino is famous for her great style, and she and Eloquii definitely delivered with this collection. It features some gorgeous pieces – a beautiful navy, red, and white floral dress, a great fall trench, and a varsity jacket with whimsical patches and shearling sleeves.
But that’s not even the best part… Wait for it…
There are coordinating dog outfits! Katie is not just famous for her style, but also for her adorable rescue pooches, Underpants, Toast, and Muppet, and this line allows you to dress to match your furry little four-legged companion. It’s just about the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.
The event was held at renowned French patisserie, Laduree in Soho, New York, and I couldn’t help but think that the team at Eloquii mixed pretty much all of my favourite things in one event – plus size fashion, puppies, and pastries! Needless to say, I had a wonderful time and even got to catch up a bit with some of my favourite New York based plus size fashion bloggers, which was truly the icing on the cake.
Many kudos to Eloquii and Katie Sturino for the launch of this exceptional line!
What I wore to the event…
I kept it simple with a flowy white blouse, some skinny jeans, and a black handbag with embroidered details. Flats are an absolute must in New York because of all of the walking! I knew I’d want to do a bit of wandering around in Soho after the event, so I made sure my outfit was comfy and cute.
